What Our Clients Say?
I recommend Worldgistic to my network in Thailand for the simple reason that I sincerely believe this freight forwarder offers the best services, both in transport and in customer support. I have never been disappointed. Their prices are comparable to those offered by more 'well-known' companies. For me, transport in Thailand = Worldgistic!
Alain F.
We looked for a freight forwarder for our company, and Worldgistic performed well and won the deal. Honestly, at first, I had reservations thinking they weren’t as established as DHL or FedEx, with whom I had previously dealt. But the personalized support clearly changed my mind. Now, we only deal with them.
Daren G.
1/Coming to Thailand was incredibly stressful for me, and 2/Moving my entire home was a real challenge. My friend recommended them. She had a good experience. I tried them and was not disappointed. My move went smoothly, I was kept informed of the procedures at each stage, and a special mention to Nick who did an outstanding job. Thank you!

Thailand, officially known as the Kingdom of Thailand, is a country in Southeast Asia. Politically, Thailand has experienced 19 coups d'état since 1932, the most recent being on May 22, 2014. This political instability may unsettle foreign investors, but the Kingdom continues to ensure business continuitydespite these challenges.
Thailand experienced strong economic growth between 1985 and 1995 and is part of the "Asian Tigers",a group of newly industrialized countries. Its economy relies heavily on tourism and exports.
The dynamism of the Thai economy is supported by robust domestic demand , making it less sensitive to global demand fluctuations compared to some of its neighbors. These strong performances have allowed the Kingdom to establish itself as a reliable regional economic power.
Another significant factor is that Thai families of Chinese origin, about 6% of the population, control most of the country's economic sectors. China and Thailand are close economic partners, with both countries signing a bilateral free trade agreement in 2003. China is Thailand's second-largest export market.
Thailand is also France's oldest partner in Southeast Asia. In 2016, the two countries celebrated 160 years of bilateral relations. Economically, Thailand is France's second-largest trading partner within ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations), with $2.3 billion in exports.
According to the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, more than 280 French companies have established operations in Thailand. In Europe, France is the fifth-largest investor in Thailand.
Thailand is is one of the five founding members of ASEAN alongside Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, and Indonesia. The Bangkok Declaration signed by these five countries is the founding document of the association, which aims to promote stability, peace, and accelerate economic, social, and cultural development.
ASEAN now has ten members. Thailand also asserts its central role within ASEAN in promoting and developing human rights within the community.
Thailand is one of the Southeast Asian countries with the most diverse resources. Here are the top 10 exported goods from the Kingdom:
- Machinery, including computers: 16.4%
- Electrical equipment: 13.8%
- Vehicles: 11.8%
- Precious stones and metals: 6.4%
- Latex: 6.3%
- Plastics: 5.4%
- Mineral fuels, including oil: 3.5%
- Meat and seafood: 2.7%
- Medical and optical equipment: 2.2%
- Organic chemicals: 1.9%
In 2019, Thailand exported goods worth $245 billion. This substantial figure underscores the heavy reliance of its economy on exports. The United States remains Thailand’s top market, accounting for 12.8% of the Kingdom's exports, closely followed by China with 11.8%.
We recommend considering the importation of Thai exotic fruits , a rapidly expanding market!
Tourism is also one of the most lucrative activities for the Thai people. A significant portion of the local population is engaged in tourism-related activities such as handicrafts, textiles, and food products.
The diversity of offerings across regions delights millions of tourists annually, who visit the Kingdom for its stunning landscapes and rich culture.
Buddhism is the predominant religion in Thailand. Numerous Buddha representations can be found throughout the country in various forms (statues, paintings, engravings, etc.). It is strictly prohibited to import these sacred representations under severe penalties.
Thailand primarily imports raw materials and semi-finished products, which constitute 56% of the total imports. Following this are imports of oil at 19%, electronic device parts at 11%, metal parts at 9%, consumer goods at 8%, and chemicals at 5.5%.
Machinery, equipment, and IT and mechanical products alone account for 25% of the total exports to Thailand.
Japan is the leading exporter to Thailand, making up 20% of the Kingdom's imports, followed by China with 15% and the European Union with 8%. Other countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, and the United States, also contribute to this list.
There are several methods to transport goods from point A to point B, depending on each client's needs:
- Sea Freight: Depending on the volume, you can choose a full container load (FCL) or a shared container (LCL - Less than a Container Load).
- Air Freight: This mode is ideal for sensitive or urgent shipments, although it is more expensive than sea transport.
- Road freight: Used for shorter distances, typically within the country.
The Kingdom of Thailand has numerous seaports and is one of the most well-equipped countries in Southeast Asia. This infrastructure supports the significant volume of exports and imports flowing through Thai maritime routes. Here are the ports through which our teams can export and import your goods:
- Port of BANGKOK
- Port of CHIAN SAEN
- Port of KANTANG
- Port of KOH SAMUI
- Port of KOH SICHANG
- Port of MAKHON SI THAMMARAT
- Port of PATTANI
- Port of PHUKET
- Port of SURAT THANI
- Port of KRABI
- Port of LAEM CHABANG
- Port of LAEM NGOP
- Port of MAB TAPUD
In Thailand, there are 9 airports that can be used not only for tourism but also for the country’s commercial activities via Thai air freight. Once again, our teams are in place to facilitate the transportation of your goods:
- SUVARNABHUMI Airport

Whether for people moving to Thailand to live, work, or retire, or those departing for personal or professional reasons, we handle a significant volume of relocations to/from/in Thailand.
In 2018, the French community officially registered with the consulate numbered 12,974 people.
In 2019, international tourism receipts increased by 3% to €57.12 billion, while the number of foreign tourist arrivals reached a record high of 39.8 million, compared to 38.2 million in 2018, according to data from the Ministry of Tourism.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, figures have changed but have not yet been officially updated.
As in all countries, there are pros and cons to moving here, with a culture different from our own. We discuss this aspect on our dedicated relocation page for Thailand.
Customs clearance is a crucial step in transportation. It is essential, for both imports and exports, to have all the necessary documents required by the country’s customs authorities toavoid delays.
- Regarding imports from Thailand : For all goods, regardless of their nature, the client must provide a commercial invoice and a packing list.
Worldgistic can be the exporter for clients who do not have a registered company or export license in Thailand. We handle the necessary documentation to facilitate the export process.
Depending on the destination country, additional documents may be requiredsuch as a certificate of origin, CE certificate for the European Union, or an import license for the receiving client, among others.
This process, sometimes complex and burdensomeis included in our services. Our mission is to support you, and ensure that the transport process is handled correctly.
- For exports to Thailand : You must ensure that your documentation is complete to avoid delays or issues during customs clearance.
For personal effects, you must provide a detailed and itemized inventory. Import taxes apply, and the only way to avoid these taxes is by having a work permit.
For commercial goods, the required documentation varies depending on the nature of the goods and their country of origin.
Finally, VAT in Thailand is 7% and is applied to the amount of transport fees. For clients with a registered company in Thailand, this VAT can be reclaimed at the end of each accounting year.
Unfortunately, corruption remains prevalent in Thailand, despite the government's ongoing efforts to combat and eradicate it. It is crucial to thoroughly verify all documents before initiating a shipment.
This helps avoid encountering unscrupulous customs officers who might demand money in exchange for the release of goods. Fortunately, we have established contacts within the customs services, which allows us to minimize these abuses of power.
FAQ Freight Forwarding Thailand – Worldgistic Answers Your Questions
There are different options available when you want to send a package to Thailand, regardless of its size. The option we recommend depends on the urgency of the shipment, most importantly, on the receipt:
- Urgent Shipments : If you are in a hurry to send or receive the package, we will prioritize air freight. Our teams will collect the package from your home, office, or warehouse on Day 1. The flight is organized the same day for absolute responsiveness. The package arrives at its destination on Day 2. During transport, you will be notified of each step by our team.
⚠️ We have warehouses that offer packaging services if needed. un service d’emballage si besoin.
- Less Urgent Shipments : If the goods are not urgently needed by your client or yourself, we prefer to use sea freight to offer you ultra-competitive rates. We use either a full container, called FCL (Full Container Load), or a shared container with multiple clients, called LCL (Less than a Container Load), also known in French as “consolidation” or “groupage.”
Depending on the volume of your goods to be transported, we compare the price of both options to optimize our collaboration and offer you attractive prices for a service that remains PREMIUM ! Each quote is tailored to perfectly meet your needs.
Finally, we are also able to handle your transport within the same country. We work closely with local carriers and moving companies that have their own fleet of trucks.
The answer is YES! Sourcing in Thailand -one of our specialties. We are based in Bangkok, making it easy for our team to travel throughout the Kingdom to find the goods you need.
- Situation 1 : If you already know exactly what you want, we will go to the suppliers for you, negotiate prices, collect your goods, pack them, and send them to you. This is our “all-inclusive” package!
- Situation 2 : If you have specific needs, we send our team across the country to find the best suppliers who produce quality at the best price. We will come back to you with a detailed, costed proposal. If this meets your expectations, we can proceed with the purchase for you. You then decide whether or not to work with us for the shipping of your goods.
In 99% of cases, our clients trust us and prefer to use our “all-inclusive” offer, which includes sourcing, negotiating, purchasing, packaging, and transporting the goods to your destination.
Note: Despite the surge in sourcing activity at Worldgistic due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Thailand, which limits our clients' movements, we continue to ensure ultra-competitive deadlines. Feel free to contact our team to discuss your project!
In some cases, especially with relocations, it is necessary to pack the goods to ensure their protection. Rest assured, Worldgistic teams handle the packaging for you.
Various materials are used depending on your goods: cartons, protective papers, and custom wooden crates for fragile items.
To reduce costs, some clients prefer to pack their goods themselves. This is not a problem. If this is your case, we can provide you with the necessary materials : tape, cartons, and bubble wrap.
Warning: There is a downside to this: insurance companies do not cover goods that have not been packed by a professional and recognized company. There is no recourse in case of damage. For this reason, we advise our clients to let our team handle the packaging. 1/ They are trained for it, and 2/ You are 100% insured.
If you still wish to handle this step yourself, please be careful to pack your products carefully to avoid breakage.
